This week of my practice teaching journey has been the most challenging week of my practice teaching . Our supervisor visited us and observe our teaching, and after she gave insights to our teaching. The main problem is the classroom management, for teaching in the past weeks that has been the problem in my teaching because it is hard to teach the students if you can’t control the classroom. Example is as I said by my supervisor insights, some of the students that wants to learn and listen may be out of focus because of some students that are noisy and have a bad behavior. So for the past few days, I’ve been thinking for a ways to help me lessen and control class. First I’ve been thinking this for many months and also in my FS one and two, the seating arrangement of the students, separating the group or students that are always noisy and just talking with each other even when the teacher is discussing in the front, after that I also fix my teaching strategies specially when talking. My CT also suggested sometimes when reading she said that when discussing sometimes, I should lower my voice and make the student always read what is presented to help them more understand and also making my voice rest, when some of the students are just talking with each other and not listening, I just watch them silently and making them realize that what they are doing is wrong and they should behave and be listening. I did this for two days and I think it’s working because it minimizes the noise of the class, it behaves other students and finally make the students wants to listen and learn in the class I did this, but I think I need more so in my teaching, I put more activities rather than discussion in my lessons using more visual aids in activities and discussion giving stars to the students that are behaving, listening and having a high score to motivate them. Doing this for also two days and applying the strategies, seating arrangement, keeping my voice low sometimes and making the students always read, making them realize that what they are doing is wrong by being silent became successful. It help me control the class and behave the students. For this week some of the students behavior became my challenges for this week and my achievement for this week is I minimize the noise of the class, control the class and finally making the whole class listen and learn and I hope this plan/strategies may continue to be more effective and successful.
